Carbon Steel
Hoover offers a selection of carbon steel intermediate bulk containers.
Carbon steel is a lighter and less expensive alternative to stainless steel. It is a metal alloy made up of a combination of two elements, iron and carbon. Other elements are present but in quantities too small to affect the properties of the alloy. Carbon is the principal hardening and strengthening element in the steel. The more carbon in the alloy, the greater the strength of the steel. Due to its hardness, carbon steel is extremely durable and impact resistant. While it is corrosion resistant, it isn’t as resistant to rust as is stainless steel. It is also not as compatible with as many materials as is stainless steel.
