Galvanized Steel

Hoover offers a galvanized Tuff Tank II™ and a galvanized Rig Rack™ for offshore applications.

Galvanized steel is often used in outdoor, offshore, marine, and industrial applications where rust resistance products are necessary. Galvanization is the process used to give steel a protective, corrosion resistant coating so it can withstand harsh environments.  This process consists of dipping steel in molten zinc. As the steel is submerged in the zinc, a chemical reaction bonds the zinc to the steel. Since rust doesn’t attack zinc, the zinc coating protects the steel underneath it from corrosion. If rust does attack the zinc, the zinc layer will corrode first which prevents rust from attacking the steel.

Galvanized steel can be identified by its dull grey color and the crystallization patterns on the surface.
