Polyethelyne

Hoover utilizes High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) in the construction of its roto-moulded containers.

High Density Polyethylene is the most commonly used thermoplastic polymer. HDPE is an extremely corrosion resistant, high density material. It is used in applications where corrosion resistance is an important factor. HDPE is often used for chemical and agricultural containers and it meets the FDA requirements for food and beverage containers.  HDPE is also suitable for containers that are used in wet environment applications as HDPE has a high resistance to moisture even withstanding long-term exposure to saltwater.

  • Abrasion resistance
  • Chemical resistance
  • Impact resistance
  • Light weight
  • Low moisture absorption (includes saltwater)
  • Toughness
