Hoover uses Grade 316 stainless steel for most of the steel valve options on Hoover intermediate bulk containers.
Grade 316 stainless steel is the second most commonly used grade of stainless steel (after Grade 304). It is more resistant to general corrosion – specifically, chloride corrosion- than Grade 304 due to the addition of molybdenum. Grade 316 steel is used in the manufacturing and handling of food and pharmaceutical products where it is often required.
316 stainless steel is popular due to its following characteristics
- Beauty of appearance
- Ease of cleaning
- Great strength
- Low Weight
- Prevention of product contamination
- Resistance to oxidation
- Restistance to corrosion
